New Ownership of Young’s Boat Yard
Ant and Sue Steward – The new owners of Young’s Boat Yard!
“We fell in love with Young’s Boat Yard and are so excited about this new chapter in our lives – and to pay tribute to the wonderful legacy of two generations of Youngs.”
The Stewards have considerable experience with boating and the marine industry and will be taking over the management and operations of Young’s Boat Yard. Read more about the Stewards HERE.
Young’s Boat Yard was established in 1945 by Harry Young, avid sailor and boat builder, who recognized Jones Creek as an ideal protected location to keep a boat. He started the marina in order to work on his 26′ ketch Bluewater as well as provide a place for like-minded sailors to care and use their boats. Continuing the legacy of his father…
In 1984, Phil Young, took over managing Young’s Boat Yard. Following in his father’s footsteps, Phil continued the legacy of providing affordable boat storage and service. During the 33 years of ownership Phil, with the help of his wife Annette , rebuilt the piers, added a 15 ton open ended travelift, provided winter haulings and seasonal slips, repaired and restored many boats and encouraged and participated in local sailing events including supporting the North Point Sailing Association.
An Ideal Location…
Young’s Boat Yard is ideally situated on Jones Creek at the mouth of the Patapsco River-Baltimore’s Gateway to the Chesapeake Bay.
The creek is quiet and protected and has a water depth of 6 ft mlw. Within minutes of navigating the well-marked channel, boaters can be cruising, fishing and sailing on the Bay.
Young’s Boat Yard is perfectly situated to enjoy the Northern Bay, Eastern Shore, Baltimore, and Annapolis.
